Solar panels have been around for quite a few years now, but like any great technology, it takes hundreds of iterations before it catches on as a perfectly suitable solution to masses of everyday problems. Here’s another piece in that great puzzle. Nectar Design’s made a fabulously pretty set of plant-esque solar panels by the name of Solarflora™. This project’s already been adopted by a charter school in Southern California. Plant em everywhere! Cute!
The first location for these planted panels is an urban garden operated by the publicly funded charter New City Schools in SoCal. Each Solarflora is a flower-like sculpture designed with three solar panels, each one representing a “leaf.” Each leaf provides 90 watts of poster and maximum amperage for the fully functional on-site offices at these NCS schools.
Yay please send me a million. Super day!

Fridge magnets is a design industry by itself. I have a cousin who has covered the entire door with cool collectables from around the world. Waterdrop Magnet is a surreal representation of water drops and most definitely belongs to the ‘Wall of Fame’! Prime for holding up Junior’s school artwork and A-grade report card! Also an alternative for post-it notes!

Most digital players come with an array of bizarre functions, some essential and some of them frivolous. If bizarre is the name of your game, then I’m sure you will appreciate the Piano Silhouette, an MP3 player that comes with a roll-out piano keyboard. So you can listen to music and make some too! For now it only allows you to play along with the music, kinda like reverse karaoke. *But what will be really kickass is if it allows you to record compositions directly to the player.
*Assuming that you don’t suck at playing the piano!
