Your Whole Wall is a Clock

A clock for not just any of your average time enthusiasts – check it out – full wall clock. Always what you’ve wanted, right? Forever? A clock that’s the size of your whole wall? No longer do you need to live in a bell tower to make this dream come true. No gargoyle dreams for you, buddy, no! All’s you need is the “Shadow Clock”, designed by Hanhsi Chen and Chiyu Chen. With the Shadow Clock, all you’re time’s a whole-wall time show. Believe me when I say, full wall display.

It’s a lamp, but not a lamp. It’s a clock, but also sort of a lamp too, I suppose, if you’re into the whole categorization thing. From the light comes three different shadows of course: one each for hour, minute, and second hands of the clock.

Inside you’ll find a conventional halogen bulb and a quartz clock movement mechanism. Quite simple when it gets down to it.

Shadows adjusted at your will.

Designers: Hanhsi Chen and Chiyu Chen

Cute Puppy Bowl Holders on the Bend

Hooray! I love me some doggie products, especially since my Fiance and I are getting our first puppy in less than a week! You know what that means? It’s time to start thinking about accessorizing. Not just collars and fabulous chew toys, those are a given, what about some nice doggie bowls? Every dog’s gotta eat, and the bowls have gotta be there somewhere in the house, so why not make them look fantastic? Here’s a solution: Roxie Doggie bowls!

Now, I’ve gotta say I’m doubly excited to write about these bowls and bowl holders because not only is the design excellent, but it’s also done by an alumni of my alma mater – the Minneapolis College of Art and Design! Maya Khaira is a graduate of the MCAD furniture program, which is right up there with graphic design as the most PRO of majors you can graduate with from this Midwest USA design college. It rocks, and clearly M.Khaira’s rockin it.

These bowls are super pretty, too. Imagine them sitting around in your modern wood-floored apartment or home. Imagine the look on the puppy’s face when you reveal the most amazingly fabulous food dish they’ve ever stuffed their snout into. Just imagine it!

So cute. So nice. So puppytastic.

Made as “Big Bend” or “Little Bend” and in Maple or Zebrawood.

No Peeping Tom Over My Shoulder

Do you live in a crowded house and suffer from lack of privacy while working? Your lucky day today! Sophie Kirkpatrick has the perfect solution for your plight; The Duplex Workspace Desk. A desk with a hood! Pull it up when you want to shut out the world and concentrate on the task as hand; pull it down when you are ready to mingle.
The Duplex Workspace is a one off prototype but Sophie is looking into developing the concept and is currently on the lookout for the funding and facilities to do so.

From an ergonomic point of view it’s pretty bad. When the cover is up you are hunched inside. Look at the position of the guy’s wrists when using the laptop; bent over the edge of the desk. Also, the shape of the storage underneath looks to be just big enough to hold nothing bigger than an A5 document without it hanging out the front.

Size – approx L 1200 x D 600 x H 1500
Material – Ash Veneered surface and hood. Solid Ash turned legs.
